$225 towards $1,000

Hello! My name is Maddie Stack and I am currently a second year medical student at COMP-NW in Lebanon, Oregon. Join me in supporting our future of medicine! A gift to the Oregon Medical Education Foundation helps create scholarships that provide urgently-needed financial relief to hundreds of students struggling with food insecurity, housing stability, and equitable access to time-saving technology & study aids...and so much more.
I am so fortunate to be a recipient of an OMEF scholarship. The stress of medical debt on top of the stress of medical school is definitely something that keeps me up at night. The current average medical debt for medical students is $220,000 for the class of 2021 and the expected average for class of 2025 is $300,000+. This doesn't even dive into the differences between medical tuition for a DO vs MD, private vs. public, and total debt vs. medical school debt. Many individuals still carry financial debt from undergraduate as well as master's degree programs. I know the tuition at COMP-NW has been steadily increasing annually and is currently $62,916 for tuition alone and that is not including housing, food, travel, and other expenses. Many students in my class (including myself) are currently on food stamps from the state of Oregon. I truly believe that financial assistance for the future leaders in medicine is so important. With this cumbersome amount of debt, this can impact which specialty a medical student may choose and cause a deviation away from primary care in our rural and underserved patient communities that need it most.
Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Oregon Medical Education Foundation. Your gift will be put to immediate good use and help all our students become the healthcare leaders we need them to be. Become a Champion for a bright future of medicine today!

Thank you for your time and consideration!
